Overview

A major US machine vision inspection solutions provider needed a more effective and energy-efficient dust blow-off solution for their customers in the defense, aerospace, and industrial product industries. The customer requires the camera lenses to be dust-free, the surrounding air borne dust to be blown away from the sensor viewing path, and the windows to be kept clear so the light rays could come through.

The customer also needed a solution that could be used in a variety of environments, including manufacturing lines, precision instrument manufacturing facilities, and rugged wind farm environments.

Solution

Sonic Blower powered Ion-Air Knife for Static Neutralizing System, or a basic Sonic Industrial Air Knife System, paired with Sonic Diverter Valve, delivers programmed targeted amplified high velocity air streams to remove dust from camera lenses, and surrounding air borne dust at multiple locations in sequence.  The timed sequenced dust blow-off requires less horsepower as no energy goes to waste.

Result

Both solutions are more energy-efficient than traditional dust blow-off methods, such as compressed air. Sonic's systems also deliver targeted air streams, which means that less air is wasted.
